The fall football season brings Wyomingites from all corners of the state to watch Div A college football play top rank schools from across the nation. University of Wyoming also competes in Div A basketball and on occasion has made it to the NIT and NCAA tournament.
Laramie is also home to WyoTech, the official school of NHRA, one of the country’s leading schools for automotive and other engine work in the country. This is a large facility with locations scattered about the community for its various programs.
Most folks live in Laramie simply because they love the outdoors. Fantastic fly fishing is available in the mountain streams, the Laramie River, or the many prairie ponds that dot the landscape. Hunting, skiing and days worth of snowmobiling are at your doorsteps with two Mountain ranges just minutes from home. Medicine Bow National Forest offers not only overnight camping spots, but also day areas to have a barbecue overlooking the broad Laramie Plains and the Snowy Range stretching for miles.
Laramie is strategically located on a major interstate. In addition, it is a short skip to both Cheyenne, Wyoming and Denver, Colorado. Laramie has its own airport that connects to Denver International Airport with a short 40 minute commute coupled with free parking at Laramie.
